This set turned out so pretty! Very spring-y. I used light purple, pink, and blue cotton and cotton-blend fabrics for the underskirt...the back (or front, depending on how you wear it) of the skirt consists of three tiers..pieced together in the "slanted patchwork" I like to do. Even the waistband is done in patchwork! Elastic/drawstring waistband. The skirt is cut so that it dips down a little in the back, or front, depending on how you wear it! If you wear the ties at the front, the back has a bit of a bustle. So cute!!
For the apron, I used a wonderful tulip print fabric. It's so colorful and bright...it's a very happy fabric :) There are four vintage tulips that I've appliqued on the bodice/band of the apron. I've accented the bodice/band with some pretty tulip-looking stitches and also some scalloped stitches. The edges of the apron have been hand-frayed...a signature BallerinaGrape technique! The straps on the apron are nice and wide, so you can wear a strapless bra if you decide to wear the apron as a top.
